Inspiration for Children
Our cars not only bring pleasure and excitement to people; sometimes, they help to save people’s lives and make their towns safer, drawing admiring eyes, particularly from children.
A CX-5 rapid response car stationed at a hospital in Miyakonojo City, Miyazaki Prefecture in Japan, is equipped with a wide variety of medical appliances and is standing by around the clock to take a doctor and a nurse to an emergency site. Thanks to its excellent driving performance, this car is particularly useful for operations on rough terrain such as mountainous regions.
Meanwhile, stationed at the Hiroshima Red Cross Blood Center are two clean diesel engine-powered CX-5s converted for transporting donated blood. These cars deliver blood to medical institutions across Hiroshima Prefecture, from remote islands to villages deep in the mountains.
Patrol cars are particularly popular among boys.

Seven Mazda2s are used as patrol cars by the Yamanashi Prefectural Police, while three RX-8s race across expressways in Tokyo for the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. In Indonesia as well, Mazda6s serve as police cars.
Decades ago, the iconic Cosmo Sport was adopted by Japanese police. A Cosmo Sport painted in the obligatory black and white speeding along the road must have been quite a sight.
Cars that perform special missions for society have always captured children’s imagination and have driven their dreams. With their high performance and versatility, our cars are well suited to performing social services and helping to make the world a better place. They have been and will continue to be a source of inspiration for children.
